Episode 53

Everyone in the hospital is becoming aware that there is a huge problem not only between Melanie and Tobi but doctor Mac too......Ofelia still has no idea why Mel is asking her to get her away from there just like that

"Let's go mother let's go now"

"Calm down princess..... what is happening... what happened between you and your husband"

"He's not my husband....... I'm leaving" she grabs Mira's hand she's about to start dragging the small girl but Mac runs out just in time to catch up with them

"Wait....wait Melanie please" as soon as Mac come out, people there who had gathered start to disappear.....

"If you want to go I will not stop you but please let me be of help" Ofelia finally walks up to him

"What's going on....I'm not understanding a thing here"

"Mum this is not the best place to explain all of this but the best person to tell you what's happening is Melanie here" he gets out his phone and dials a number

"Hello baby....where are you now...... OK get back here soon, I need your help" he turns to them again

"Please I beg of you....wait for Jane we just want to help" Mel calms down a bit but the crying doesn't stop, her aunt doesn't want little Mira to witness this so she takes her away for a walk......

Ronald is driving in high speed to the hospital, he didn't tell anyone where he was headed to or what he was up to but he's sure the coward and bastard Tobi must have hurt Melanie, he swears in clenched teeth that he's going to end it all today, he will not only unmask him in front of everyone in the hospital but he will break his face there and then, he will take Mel, his Mel away from there whatever it takes.....he drives in to the hospital and packs his car, without wasting time, he jumps out and takes off towards the entrance.........

Jessica and Mira have just stepped out and instead of taking the walk they had planned, Mira starts to act funny

"What's up baby....what's wrong"

"Where is Daddy.......I want Daddy"

"Look, Daddy has gone home to pick up something and also pass by to the office, he will come back you will see" the girl doesn't look convinced

"I don't believe you.... Mummy wants us to get away from here without Daddy"

"That's not true princess"

"You're lying to me aunty...just like Daddy lied to Mummy" Jessy is dumbstruck

"Lied to mummy?..... who is feeding your head"

"I heard Daddy say to uncle Mac, he said he lied to Mummy.... he lied to Grandma and Everyone" Jessy is beginning to put one and one together but then she sees someone she thinks looks familiar..... she has never seen Ronald physically but she could swear he's the same person she saw on the wedding card

"Could it be he's back?.... could it be he's the reason they are fighting and Mel is trying to run away from her husband?..... whatever the case, I will not allow it" she thinks to herself and turns to Mira

"Princess can you do me a favour.... go in and call Grandma for me and mummy shouldn't come too" the ever so obedient Mira did not protest and goes back inside..........

Ronald continues to walk hastily as if he wants to finish the remaining distance by running

"I don't know which room you're in but I'm going to find out, you're not spending more minutes in here.....he thought by bringing you here to his friends hospital he's going to cover up....... I'm sure he beat you up, he beat you up because you went to see me, that bastard rapist" he wasn't seeing where he was walking and suddenly he bumps on someone

"Excuse me.....I'm sorry but I'm on hurry" he thinks it's just some normal bumping on someone story but he was surprised when the woman held his coat

"Excuse me Sir..... I deliberately got in your way because I don't intend to allow you go in there" Jessy steps in his face

"Excuse me!"

"No you excuse me Ronald pope or junior or whatever you call yourself"

"Who are you and what's your problem.... look I'm not interested in your type of game and I have little or even no patience at all to people like you" he wants to move but she moves too just starring at him in the face

"At least you have some little patience with people like me but as for me, I have absolutely no patience with people like you and that's why you're not going in there you home wrecker" they stare at each other madly now and Jessy is so determined not to let him through

"I know why you're here.....but guess what, I don't know who informed you and I don't know how you thinks you can disappear from my daughter's life for five years after hurting her....almost killing her five years ago......don't you have shame at all"

"The last time I checked,Melanie had one mother and her name was Ofelia not some wannabe.....I know your type, you don't know Melanie at all, you probably even surfaced just because she married some billionaire in town....all of a sudden you feel important.... I'm getting in there and you will do nothing about it"

"Over my dead body you moron.....you have to kill me first, I was wondering why all of a sudden Melanie and Tobi were having issues not knowing you had surfaced.....you're so shameless, so shameless" Jessy was getting impatient because her sister was taking forever to get out and yet she's so scared this Ronald might choose to throw her skinny self out of his way.......

What's going on here....what are you doing here at this time of the day" Jessy finally steps away on hearing her sister's voice

"Thank God Mira is a good messenger..... now help me tell this fool right here that he's not welcomed here" Ofelia finally walks up to Ronald, five years ago, she had so much respect and love for this young man for the affection and love he showed to her daughter but all that evaporated the day he disgraced them in the worst way possible, she doesn't want to create scandal and she doesn't want to embarrass him too

"Good evening mother.... I was told Mel is here.... I just want to talk to her it's very important"

"Yes she's here but I don't think I can allow you to see her" not the replay Ron was expecting

"Can we talk somewhere else......maybe in my car"

"I'm sorry, what you're asking of me is rather too difficult, I had promised myself that I don't want to have anything to do with your family and I intend to keep it that way"

"Please I beg of you....mum this is very important, I promise after this, I won't insist on seeing her if you don't want me to" Ofelia looks at Jessy who says it's OK......the two walk over to his car but Ofelia says it's better they talk outside

"So get to the point"

"I'm so sorry.....I first want to start by apologising for my mistakes of five years ago"

"You call them mistakes?.... huh....those were nerve mistakes because you were well aware of what you wanted and what you did, so don't anger me more by calling them merely mistakes"

"All in all, you have every right to be mad at me because I deserve it....but if you could just hear me out and let me explain things over to you"

"Nope...don't count on that, you had enough time to do that, do you know what's even funny, we waited for days, weeks, months like idiots thinking you owed us some explanations and you would come but what did you do?.... tell me what did you do"

"Believe me, I wanted to.... I wanted to come over and say I'm sorry.... but....."

"Buy nothing, I was so wrong to believe in you in the first place you're nothing but a liar......we have shame, we have pain.....do you even know how much Melanie suffered after you mercilessly broke her heart"

"I suffered too mum.....I suffered too and I continue to suffer but that's not why I'm here"

"What are you here for if not for my daughter"

"Yes, I can't deny that I'm here for Melanie....... I have tried to get close to her but I meet rejection and that hurts you have no idea how much.....I have lived all these years in regret but her rejection now hurts like nothing"

"I can see you have been trying so hard to come into the beautiful Union between my daughter and her husband....... I will not allow you to"

"If he was some decent fellow believe me Mum..... I would have stayed back and keep my distance"

"Oh please, you know nothing about Tobias..... of course how would you when you're not even half of the man he is......you have no idea how much he has done for us, he was able take our shame away"

"Of course that was the least he could do"

"Excuse me...."

"Sorry Mum.... five years ago, I made a Promise to Melanie, to you and to my family that I would do everything possible to find Melanie's rapist and today, I can confidently say that my offer still stands" Ofelia is so furious

"Who are you to just come and want to turn things around in my daughter's life like you have the power......who gave you the authority?.... Melanie has moved on and the last thing I need is for you come come and meddle"

"I know what you're saying is true but as long as that man still remains at large and closes to her,Mel will never be fully Happy"

"What are you saying closer, do you know something that we don't..... do you know who the man is"

"Yes mum....Melanie's rapist is non but her own husband Tobias Akankwasa" Ofelia wants to faint, she holds on to her heart and looks at Ron in shock

"Tell me you're joking....tell me it isn't true" he takes advantage of this situation and comes closer and holds her hands

"I wish I was Mum..... but I'm very sure of what I'm saying, that sweet little son in-law who acts like an angel is non other than the man who is responsible for all the shame I put Melanie to....he mercilessly raped her" Ofelia begins to think, she is sure this is the reason why Mel had this accident, and now she asking her to take her away from there

"I swear he is going to pay for this....he's going to pay for separating Mel and I and for causing us pain" this angers her

"Don't play the victim here..... you are not any different from the rapist and maybe you're even worse, what did you do five years ago,....you finally helped put the last nail and broke her faith, her heart and herself..... thanks for your offer but stay away, we are going to solve this ourselves......I'd don't want you near my daughter, you had your chance five years ago and now you're a no body to her and to our family" she walks away from him and in her heart she prays this shouldn't be true

"I can't afford to hate Tobi.... there has to be something wrong somewhere"...

Episode 54

Ofelia who is still unsure of what to do or how to react comes back into the hospital room looking so down and she's trembling, she doesn't know what to do about this development or even act about this whole news, she looks so down but fights to put up a brave act in front of everyone, the last thing she wants right now is to make any one suspect she already knows something...... she's relived to find Mel has calmed down a bit talking to Mac, she has no idea what they are talking about but she's so thankful for that....she walks up to them

"Excuse me Dr Mac, can I talk to you please" Ofelia asks Mac

"Sure... we can do it from my office" he leads her to his office, it's the first time she's entering his office and she feels a little awkward

"Thank you"

"Sit.....go ahead and sit" Ofelia does and she looks him in the eyes

"I'm here to ask you a few questions and I want honest answers from you Dr Mac" Mac saw this coming

"So you already know"

"Yes I do Mac..... I already know and I want to know if you knew about this...... did you know about this from the beginning" he looks aside

"Don't lie to me please.... for how long have you known about this"

"I wouldn't say that I don't know about it because I would be lying to you but believe me......the only person who can explain things clearly is Tobi.... I'm not justifying his actions or anything because he's my brother or for the fact that he's more like my brother but please, I beg of you don't judge Tobi before listening to his explanations" Ofelia gets up and starts to pace

"I'm confused, I'm so confused and I don't know what to do.... what really happened, how did this all happen"

"Calm down.....I can assure you, Tobi had no intentions of hurting Mel, he...."

"What????..... are you justifying his actions.... is that it"

"Not at all mother.....I have known Tobi all my life and we have been more than just friends....we have been to the same primary school, highschool and it was only during our university days we were apart because he moved out of the country..... but he came back, he was the same Tobi I knew years before, nothing changed"

"Then how will you explain.... how and why did he do this to us"

"That's why I said you should talk to him, let him explain and you understand...... you have lived for five years with him in the same house, you know what he's capable of, you know how he gets when his loved ones are involved especially Melanie and Mira..... you see how much he has done for Melanie and he even went as far as forsaking his own mother in order to be with her" he walks up to her and holds her hands

"Sit down please mum..... don't get yourself all worked up......I know Melanie right now may not want anything to do with him.... I know she will not want to hear anything from him but don't you think that will be so unfair to him after all this while.....after everything, do you think this will be fair to him" Ofelia looks so confused

"I don't know my son.....I don't know, I have failed to accept that Tobi truly did this to my daughter"

"But she did....she did and he's not proud of what he did,he is ashamed of himself and he has not been able to forgive himself after all this while" she gets up again and walks to the window

"Could it be that he never loved her,he was only with her because he was only feeling guilty or because of his daughter"

"No no no mother.... don't think so little of him, I admit he got close to her at first because he was feeling guilty and could not forgive himself for everything but that all changed, he genuinely fell in love and so he wanted to be with her.....I'm not lying about that I swear" she starts to weep

"Tobi my son.....my child, why didn't you tell me.....why did you keep all this from me"

"Don't work up your Brain..... like I told you, all Tobi ever wanted was the best for all of you.....he's a good person, a beautiful soul and a peace Maker..... He's a quiet man, have you Ever seen him raise a hand on your daughter all this while?.... has he ever given you a reason to doubt his love for Melanie?.... has she ever complained about him to you in all these years"

"I know....I find it so hard to believe.... there is something wrong somewhere that I need to find out but Melanie wants us to go away" he goes to her again

"Where do you plan on going from here" she looks at him and sits down

"I wish I knew.....I just wish I knew but I have no idea, all my life I have been a very unlucky woman and it has all transfered on my daughter"

"Please don't say that.....you're not unlucky and neither is your daughter Melanie..... if you let me, I can be of help"

"How.....how can you possibly be of help to me"

"Look....just a little Patience, I have called my wife, she's on her way here..... we can help find a place for you so you can move in to until Mel is sound enough to make any decision"

"No....that won't be necessary, I don't want to owe any one anything anymore"

"I know that's what you want but this is not some favour I expect you to pay back, Tobi is my brother and you're all like a family to me because you're his family....he will not forgive me if I don't help you people out, he would do the same to me I swear if I was the one in this situation" Ofelia looks like she's going to give in but she still has some doubt in her eyes

"You can trust me Mum.... as much as he's my friend, I will not tell him where you guys are if you don't want him to know"

" Trust me.....we have no choice because it's true we have no where to go, Mel will not want any financial assistance from Tobi and we even don't know where to start from.....I blame myself for being a poor mother"

"Don't say that" he goes on to hug her

"You can never be poor, you're rich at heart and you have a beautiful soul too.....your daughter is not any different from you"

"Thank you very much Dr"

"Please just call me Mac or even better son" she this time embraces him tightly

"With you and Tobi I surely won a lottery and it breaks my heart that he...." he cuts her short

"Don't judge him before hearing his whole story please...... I'm sure you will not change the way you think of him"

"I hope so..." she starts to walk out

"Mum...." she stops

"Please, if possible.... you should be careful with who visits Mel or when....I'm sure some people are going to want to take advantage of this situation to confuse her the more.....I know on the right sense, police would be the immediate person you run to but please it should be maybe after you have talked to Tobi and you are convinced that's what you wish to do.....remember a child is involved in this.....a child who looks at her father as a hero, as a perfect father.....I'm not blackmailing you but I hope you get my point....you all love Mira and want the best for her"

"Don't worry.....I understand....." they walk out together.......they get to the waiting area and find Jane has already arrived and and she's seated with Mel her aunt and Mira......

"Thank goodness you're here baby can we talk" Mac says to Jane who gets up immediately, they walk aside

"What's going on baby...I'm confused, no one is talking"

"How is Tobi... where is he"

"He's down... he totally down and doesn't want to talk....I'm so confused....what happened, did they fight"

"I will explain everything to you baby but right now we have to get these people out of here...."

"What are you saying"

"We are taking them to Niva"

"Niva???..... what's going on"

"Hurry...let's get going I don't want people to start talking.....and after here you will help me pick up their things from Tobi's and bring over"...... Mel still doesn't know what's going on when her mother asks her to get up and they go, she has no idea where they are even going

" Mummy...are we going to Daddy now" Mira is hopeful and Mel kneels down

"Sweetheart...... stop asking too many questions let's go"

"But i need to see my Daddy"

"You will see him Darling" Ofelia comes to the little girl's side

"Let's go" she looks at Mel and they leave and unknown to them Ron who packed outside the hospital has been waiting for them to get out, the moment he sees Mac's car leave, he starts the car and follows them....he swears he's not going to leave till when he speaks yo Mel and take her away with him.....
