Dayo's angel episode 16
Moyo scanned the man before her suspiciously, why had he taken a photo of her? She wasn’t a fool, there’s a way he tilted his phone and focused on her, why would he do such when the rules were clearly stated? Clients who patronised the Harem were not allowed to take pictures of the girls.
‘You are quiet huh’? the man had an Arabic accent.
‘Can we just get to the part where you sleep with me’? Moyo tried to sound brave but inwardly she died a thousand times.
‘Oh honey, you’re in such a hurry, but I’d like to get to know you better’ he stroked her hand.
‘Excuse me, discussions with the girls isn’t allowed, if you’re done with your drinks maybe it’s time we get to the room’ one of Larkin’s spies confronted them.
‘Oh, my bad, I’m sorry’ the Sheik winked.
Moyo opened her mouth to speak but no words came out while stroking her hand, the man had slipped a note, she could feel it. This gave her hope and she suddenly realised this man must have come to save her.
‘You know what? I don’t like this girl, she is boring and ugly, I need someone bubbly and fun, I paid for this and I must be treated well’ the Sheik complained.
‘I am sorry sir but the boss gave stern instructions that you must be with Moyo tonight, she’s one of our best and we’re offering her to you on a platter of gold’ the spy replied.
‘It’s like you don’t know much about business, do you? The client has the upper hand, if I am not satisfied, I can never return here and I have a lot to offer this place, trust me, so you have to give me someone else, I don’t want her’ the Sheik pressed on.
‘What’s going on here’? Shantal walked into the bar, Larkin had promoted her and she now had the right to deal directly with the clients.
‘This man doesn’t like me and needs someone fun; I think we should give him what he needs’ Moyo rose to her feet.
‘Is that so Mr Sheik’? Shantal raised her brows, she had a feeling, Moyo had something to tell her.
‘Yes, I need someone else’ he replied.
‘Fine. Gulder, get one of the girls to replace Moyo’ Shantal ordered.
‘Thanks’ the Sheik nodded happily.
‘Mr Sheik indeed’ Wale muttered to himself as they all left him. He poured himself some scotch and gulped it greedily. He had to sleep with one of the girls to make everything convincing, he didn’t want this Larkin man to suspect him, he perceived whoever was behind the Harem was a very dangerous person and he wasn’t ready to meddle into that. All he wanted was to get Moyo out of the Harem.
Luck had really smiled on him, he’d imagined searching for Moyo in the Harem would’ve been a very stressful job, but she just walked right into his arms. Now they knew where she was, the next thing was finding a way to get her out.
He sighed as another young girl was brought to him, once he left the Harem, they had to plan on how to get Moyo out.
She’d waited for almost an hour and Abu didn’t show up, had he changed his mind? She checked her wristwatch from time to time. The bar was getting empty and Abu was yet to appear.
‘Hello there’ a male voice interrupted her thoughts and she looked up in surprise as Abu walked into the bar.
‘Abubakar, what took you so long? I’ve waited for ages’ Adaeze sighed in relief.
‘I had some things to do, so how have you been, you’re still as hot as ever’ Abu scanned his eyes over her.
‘Thanks, you don’t look bad yourself’ Adaeze wore a pretty smile as he complimented her.
‘So how is Larkin? How is the harem’? Ada inquired.
‘Fine. Everything is fine, Larkin is getting more customers and stealing more people, he plans to create another branch elsewhere’ Abu snapped his fingers and a waiter walked towards them.
‘Water is okay’ Ada ordered, she needed to be sober so they could plan well.
‘Beer’ Abu replied quietly.
‘So what changed your mind? Why did you come’? Ada was pleased to see him.
‘Maybe you’re right, maybe Larkin is not willing to let me go, he thinks I was born to be his slave’ Abu lit a cigarette, he couldn’t wait to waste Larkin and by God, he would do it, when the time was right.
‘I am happy you see reasons with me, you need to kill him Abu, that’s the only way out, once you take him out, the Harem becomes yours and you’d do anything you want with it’ Adaeze said.
‘Yes, but it’s not that easy to kill Larkin, he’s got so much connections and he doesn’t trust easily’ Abu reminded her of how complex of a man Larkin was.
‘Then kill him without using a gun, you could poison him’ Ada suggested.
Ada….We’ve been trapped’ those were Abu’s last words before he fell off the chair, then gunshots filled the air and people ran helter-skelter.
‘Bundle her, she’s coming with us’ Ada was unconscious but she still recognised the voice of the man that stole her freedom, how did Larkin find them?
‘Call the police!’ Dayo shouted to the waiters as some men bundled his sister and took off with her.
He’d been outside the bar, he’d seen the man Adaeze had come to meet; he was about stepping into the bar, when a bullet pierced through his body and that caused him to hide, but he needed to find out what was really going on. What business had Ada with those people?
‘He is terribly wounded sir; we should take him to the hospital’ A waitress came to assist him as he lifted Abu.
‘Not to worry, I’m a certified medical practitioner, just call the police and lock this place up’ Dayo instructed.
The gunshots had shattered the glass that sheltered the bar, some people were wounded.
‘What a night’ Dayo sighed and checked the injured man, he was still breathing, they’d meant to kill him but they’d failed.
‘CALL ME WALE, SOMETHING CAME UP’ Dayo sent a message to his lawyer and slid into the car and drove away quickly, he was afraid someone might be following him, so he decided to go to Kayode’s house.
