Me: you what?
Fadz: I quit my job
Me: what do you mean you quit your job?
Fadz: I mean I told mom that I don’t want to work at her jewelry shop anymore and I found a new better job
Me: are you crazy
Fadz: no…
Me: go get it back… you can’t quit your job
Fadz: I can and I just did… baby I am your PA
Me: I am going to fuck you
She gasped then hit my shoulder. We were standing right in front of her yard again.
Me: if you don’t want me to fuck you then you are going to have to get your job back.
Fadz: are you threatening me
She thinks I am threating her…oh no baby, I am really going to do it. I brushed my thumb over her cheek looking right into her eyes. I gave a slight smile then stopped smiling at all. I moved down my hand to her neck then tilted her head from her chin and I kissed her then I stopped and listened to how her breath hitched.
Me: you think I am threatening you… baby, the way you are pushing me… I might just end up doing here.
She took a deep breath then opened up the door.
Fadz: I have to get to the house
Me: see you tomorrow
Fadz: or maybe in the few minutes
Me: why do you say that?
Fadz: your video calls
Me: oh…
Fadz: yeah… so do talk to your father and then inform me. its been days since you came with this awesome idea but you haven’t made any progress
Me: you are stubborn
Fadz: mmh
She gave me one last kiss and left.
Later that night at dinner. I got a chance to tell them about my plan of starting my very own construction company. They were all quite listening to me, maybe too quite i ended up feeling like my plan may not be approved.
Sam: honestly that’s a great idea but do you have any idea on what you are trying to start
Dad: that’s a good point Sam. Do you have idea what you want to do?
Me: actually yes…. How hard can it be?
Leonard: (shrieks) how hard can it be? It can be a challenge in fact it will be a challenge.
Me: I run a transporting company, I think I can handle a construction company
Dad: first of all the company that you are running was already at the top when you got on the sit. Right now what you want to do is you want to start a company from scratch and starting a company from scratch is not as easy as you think. How many people do you think would want to invest in your company… for what reason? There are other construction companies’ out there but they are getting no where
Me: well I didn’t think it will be easy but at least I can give it a try
Dad: and what do you think will happen if it fails… just by giving this company a try you are going to invest millions in it and then what… what if it fails… what if there are no investors interested or you fail your first contract… I mean if you fail your first contract then who else would want invest in your company.
I was struck… I hadn’t thought about any of this.
Dad: don’t get me wrong i9 am not trying to discourage you… don’t get me wrong son but you are thinking of taking a big risk. I have to warn you.
Sam: I suggest you think about it overnight. Maybe then you would have made up your mind
Me: yes… that would be nice.
Mom: henry…
We all turned to look at henry who was busy on his I pad. He looked up at all of us.
Henry: yes
Mom: one could swear you have started your very own company… what have I told you about the dinner table.
Henry: sorry mom… I was just double checking something.
He put the I-pads on the side and picked up the spoon
Mom: you were double checking your wife. Did she arrive home safely
Henry: yes she did.
Mom: good that means you can eat right
Henry: yes mom.
Sam: dude if you can’t stay away from your wife why don’t you just go to her
Henry: shut up Sam
Mom: henry… language
Henry: sorry……
I stood up and went to my room feeling a little down and less confident about my plan. I decided to video call Fadz. The first call went un answered. I called again this time she answered, I was just about to ask her why she didn’t answer then I noticed how wet her hair was and she was trying to dry it with her towel.
Fadz: hello lover boy
Me: you been taking a shower
Fadz: yes… what’s up
She put the towel down and sat on the bed. With wet hair… that is not healthy right… she could get cold.
Me: are you going to dry your hair?
Fadz: don’t worry about my hair I will deal with it later
Me: no… you go and dry your hair right now… with a hair drier
Fadz: really…
Me: you could get a cold
She rolled her eyes and shifted. Then I realized that she was wrapped in a towel. It’s a bit chilly and she wearing a towel with wet hair.
Me: do you have a hair dryer?
Fadz: yes I do… hold on you didn’t call just so you can tell me to dry my hair right
Me: yes I didn’t but dry your first and put on something warm I will call you after an hour
Fadz: oh my gosh…
Me: really after an hour
I hanged up when I looked up henry was by door folding his hands and grinning. I frowned
Me: what…
Hendry: you really like that girl don’t you
Me: yes I do and I am most positive that you won’t be able to take her away from me.
He smirked
Henry: no I won’t even try I am fine with my crazy childish moody girl right now… she is my life line
Me: oh
Henry: yes.
Me: how can I help you?
Henry: yes about that… I was listening to your idea at the dinner table and honestly I think that’s a great idea
Me: okay
Henry: and I listened to dad, he had some strong points starting a business from scratch alone can be hard.
Me: yes I got it
Henry: so I want to suggest something for you… I have a friend who is also in the process of starting his own company… a construction company, he recently paused this whole project of his because of lack of money. So I thought maybe if you could partner with someone like him then it wouldn’t be so bad
Me: okay… what is his reason for starting this whole project.. I mean you know why want to start this whole business in the first place
Henry: honestly your motives are almost similar… he is a school dropouts and he pretty much didn’t have much growing up… his motive was to create job for those school drop outs… you know, people without any qualifications
Me: oh… great. But that would mean we would share this company like fifty?
Henry: yes but it’s a good deal
Me: thanks … I will think about it
Henry: good I will leave now.
An hour later I called Fadz as promised, only this time I had recovered from my earlier lack of confidence.
Fadz: I am putting on jeans and a jersey, my hair is dried and i am also putting under my blankets
I smiled… she was informing me as if I wouldn’t believe her
Me: good girl
Fadz: so will you tell me now
Me: you look so beautiful do you know that
Fadz: will you please… oh my God stop trying to irritate me
She was saying this but she was blushing then she hang up. I like how nowadays she blushes when I compliment her. I called her again
Fadz: you called again
Me: don’t hang up… I will tell you now.
I narrated all that happened during dinner and what henry told me.
Fadz: well partnering with someone will definitely help but my dear that person is just like you… he has no business background no qualifications whatsoever and he will be hiring people without qualifications.
Me: I get your point but don’t forget that we are doing this top help people
Fadz: how do you think this is going to appear on your profile?
Me: not good
Fadz: although I think that it will be good if you meet him once, who knows he may turn out to be profitable.
Me: you are great… PA
Fadz: so you agree
Me: no I don’t
Fadz: well its your problem so deal with it
She yawned. Then leaned back.
Me: are you tired?
Fadz: what do you think?
Me: well you just yawned so
Fadz: no… I am not tired
Me: okay… but you are going to work tomorrow
Fadz: where?
Me: at your mother’s shop
Fadz: please… what do I have to do to prove that I will be good as your personal assistant?
Me: are you serious right now… I can barely think about work with you around me
Fadz: give me a chance then I will show you that you can work with me around.
Me: oh dear… you are impossible, okay fine I will give you a chance.
She jumped around with excitement,
Me: its late now go to sleep
Fadz: no… sometimes I think you hate me when we are talking like this… you are always in a hurry to hang up
Me: I would never hate you baby
We chatted until I could see that she couldn’t keep awake anymore. She ended up sleeping leaving the phone on the bed then I hanged up.
The next day before I headed to work Sam brought up the topic.
Sam: so have you thought about it
Me: yes but I would like to ask henry a few questions first
Henry: sure
Me: this guy who you suggested why do you think it would be great if I partnered with him?
Henry: well for a start… the guy may not have financial support but he is very hooked with one of the most top investors who are ready to invest into his business if he succeeds to make it come to live
Me: okay… so this guy comes with investors
Henry: yes
I narrated to my family about henry’s idea and how I think I could actually build up something from that
Dad: well I will not discourage you…
Me: thank you dad
Dad: if you need money just let me know
Me: yes… henry when can I meet him?
Henry: he is not in our country… he is actually next door, Zim
Me: oh…
Henry: yes
Me: so how do think this is going to work? I mean he is not here
Henry: it will work perfectly fine… so if you want to set up a meeting I will inform him then you too can meet
Me: there is what we call technology, I think we can actually have a meeting through Skype
Henry: great I will talk to him.
Trisha
Leading a big company is supposed to be hard but I think this is actually the easiest company to run. Everyone knew what to do… I didn’t have any problem with anyone. Andile had never returned to my company again and I wondered why the hell he troubled me in the first place ”Mrs. Tyson…“ a voice startled me from my thoughts. I was sitting in my chair looking out the window facing away from my door. I took a deep breath and twirled the chair around to meet the person calling me out. It was one of my new employees.
Me: yes Greg
Greg: uh… Mr. Andile was here and he came with his case… I am the one that attended to him since all my seniors were busy and he wants me to work on it.
Me: where is he?
Greg: he is down stairs mam
Me: call him up here… let him know that I want to see him
In a few minutes he entered.
Me: it took you four days to get your documents from your car
Andile: I got an emergency call
Me: really… you seem a little bit shady
Andile: do I… hello Trisha
Me: good day Andile… please take a seat.
Andile: so you wanted to see me
He sat down making himself comfortable
Me: yes… I really want to know what the deal is with your sister who you want to open a case for
Andile: I believe she didn’t get any justice… the case didn’t even go to court… she was sent straight to jail
Me: for how long is se serving
Andile: I think it’s for a life time… I mean even she doesn’t know
Me: why was she arrested in the first place?
Andile: she has been accused of murder
Me: murderer… she killed a person
Andile: that’s what I was told
Me: do you believe it?
Andile: I know my little sister did some shady stuff to earn a living but I don’t think she has the capability of murdering a person.
Me: but you do know that it is possible that she could have murdered the man right
Andile: I think that would have been possible if it was self defense
Me: I see… so you said she did some shady stuff… what kind of shady stuff where you talking about
Andile: I don’t know… I think you should come and talk to her yourself
Me: yes, I will… if you don’t mind me asking. When all this happened… where were you and why didn’t you help your sister out
Andile: I was overseas… I couldn’t do anything and you know all she ever wanted was money…
Me: I don’t get it if your sister did kill a man she does deserve to be in prison but if she didn’t then I will get her out.
Andile: I want her out in both the circumstances…
Me: we may be a law firm Andile but trust me I don’t like thugs out in the streets, it makes a world a dangerous place
Andile: my sister is not a thug
Me: if a murderer is not a thug then what makes thug Andile… just let my lawyer see if she is innocent
Andile: do you think my sister killed him
Me: I don’t know… Andile… I was not there… look if she is guilty then I will make sure she is prosecuted in the right way.
He stood up.
Andile: you are getting bigger by the day
Me: thank you
Andile: do send your, lawyers to see my sister then we will talk again after that
Me: great
Andile: I am going now
He left my office. I was left with a lot of wonders… surely if her sister did murder a man then she deserves to be locked up isn’t it right… or am I just being cruel?
