    Vanishing Bullet

    A Girl Like Amanda
    Season 2.

    Written by Jake Sam.

    Episode 2.

    Two days later.

“Dr. Sheila I can’t find Amanda.” A nurse commented tirelessly as she dashed into the doctor’s office, panting hard. It seems she was running.

“What do you mean you can’t find her?.” Dr. Sheila commented adjusting her eye glass.

“I mean she is not in her ward.” She spoke again catching her breath.

“You must be joking, I thought she was dosed.” Dr. Sheila commented as she stood up immediately.

“Yes she was but right now, she is not there anymore.” The nurse said.

Dr. Sheila was initially confused at that point of time. She didn’t know what to do if it is true.

She decided to check for her herself.

She took her stethoscope and hung it round her neck before she walked out of her office hastily.

Not wasting time, she got there and saw that the bandages have been removed and the drip have been unplugged and placed on the mattress.

“Oh my word!” She exclaimed shockingly as she placed her hand in pocket and couldn’t find her purse inside.
    **
    Meanwhile…

Amanda walks around not knowing where to go, she didn’t feel safe at the hospital as she felt she was being watched every night.

She knew it wasn’t right to disappear from the hospital but right now, it doesn’t matter. She wished she had a phone to contact Maureen or Victoria.

She wandered what she was doing in her village, she remembered the place but had forgotten her family.

How she ended up in a hospital baffled her, decided to see if she could find an eatery to eat so she could replenish her strength. Then she remember she was still in the hospital’s gown.

Taking out the purse she had stolen from Dr. Sheila when she wanted to inject earlier, she checked inside and saw sixteen thousand inside. She became glad again and decided to look for a boutique where she could buy new cloth.

People looking at her strangely but she didn’t care, she just walked around for some time till she saw a boutique shop nearby, she quickly entered and bought a jean trouser and a top with a face cap and a pair of sneakers which cost her about ten thousand naira, left with six thousand naira, she decided to locate an eatery as her stomach is rumbling due to the hunger she was experiencing.

“Ma’am am here for the bill.” The waitress diligently said.

“How much?” Amanda asked her after finishing a plate of jollof rice.

“It’s two thousand naira ma.” She replied.

Amanda took out two thousand, wanting to handed to the waitress, she was stopped midway.

“Don’t worry I’ll settle the bill.” She said someone say.

She slowly turned her head around, Maureen was standing behind her standing and smiling.

Amanda quickly stood up and hugged her immediately.

“I’ve missed you.” She found herself saying.

“Me too baby girl.”Maureen commented and disengaged from the hug as she brought out her purse, taking out five thousand naira and handed it to the waitress who was still standing, looking at the two ladies.

“Her bill is two thousand naira ma’am.” She said as as she saw the money.

“I know, you can keep the rest.” She replied before holding Amanda’s hand and signaled to a guy who was standing a feet away from them. When he got close. Amanda saw it was Taofeeq.

“Taofeeq, what are you doing here. What are you guys doing here.” Amanda had to asked.

“My father sends for you Amanda.” Maureen said and Amanda nodded as she remembered Maureen had informed her a while back…

    Vanishing Bullet

    A Girl Like Amanda

    Season 2

    Written by Jake Sam

    Episode 3.

My father sends for you Amanda.” Maureen said and Amanda nodded as she remembered Maureen had informed her a while back.

“When did you guys arrive here?” She questioned.

    “This morning.” Taofeeq cuts in.

“Well am glad to see you guys.”

“Us too babe.* Maureen smiled as she led her to the SUV parked outside of the restaurant.

“So why you guys?.” She asked once more once she entered the SUV.

“Daddy figured you would behave well with me around and that Taofeeq should be my bodyguard.” She answered then signaled Taofeeq to start the car engine which he did.

“So where too?” She dropped looking outside the window.

“Our hotel room. Then tomorrow we head back to Lagos.” She said looking at Amanda.

Amanda didn’t say anything else, she just shook understandingly.

“So what happened to you this past few days?.” Maureen felt like saying something.

Amanda turns and looked at her with a gloomy look then said “I just don’t remember.”
    ***
“What do you mean she disappeared?!” Olisa shouted at the top of his voice in Dr. Sheila’s office.

“Calm down Olisa, but that’s the truth.” Dr. Sheila pleaded.

“Don’t tell me to calm down alright. She is my Step brother’s only child. She is my children’s friend who are crying and disturbing me at home just because of her. Top that my step sister’s son is here also receiving treatment in this hospital. We wanted to take her home but you insisted she stays here for three days. Now she is missing!.” He yelled out angrily.

“Calm down Olisa, you’re in a hospital. I only called you here alone because you are the head of your house and you and that young man have been looking after her since she was unconscious.

“I know that Dr. Sheila but are you hearing yourself. An injured girl escaped from your hospital and no one knew about it in time. Am only worried because she lost memories of her family meaning she has no one in this village.” He said pacing about.

“You’re right. I understand the situation. Maybe we should go to the police?.” She suggested.

“I think I’ll just do that.” He said as he slams his fist on the doctor’s table.

He exited her office and Dr. Sheila muttered a silent prayer “Lord please let her be safe.”
    ***
“You woke up in a hospital with no memory of how you got there?.” Maureen questioned as they entered into their hotel room. Room 142. Taofeeq took the next room. Room 143.

“I don’t even remember why I came to this village. My village.” Amanda sighs getting tired of the questions Maureen was throwing at her.

“Your village?.” Maureen looked surprised, “I thought you said you didn’t know anything about your family or even your village?.” She stared at Amanda, waiting for her say anything.

“I lied about that. I didn’t want anybody to know my background.” She dropped feeling sorry for lying in the first place.

“You didn’t want anyone to know your family background so how did my father knew you were here then?.” She spit out almost angry.

“I told him because at that time, he was a father to me.” She looked away. She knew Maureen very well, staring at her would make matters worst.

“Okay, a year later. When I asked you about it. You said the same thing.” She was trying to keep her temper in check.

“Yea because I wasn’t sure if I should have told you then. Am sorry.” She commented again.

“Okay, fine. I totally understand why you didn’t tell me.” She said as she sat back on the bed with Amanda to her surprise, she kissed her passionately and they both started unbuttoning their clothes.

“Wait wait. I’ll should take a shower first.” Amanda said halfway.

“We’ll do that together.” Maureen replied as they resumed kissing.
