Episode 1
A Story Written by Tycoon
Gone are the days when graduates in
Nigeria,before finishing their educational
career,would have secure a stand-by job waiting
for them.But nowadays,things have changed,should we
say it is caused as a result of breakdown in the
economical sector or the rate at which the
number of students are graduating each
yearâŚ.This also affect a young graduate
calledâŚâŚ..*Alano*,a handsome and good-looking guy who is
averagely-tall and at his *late 20s* in age,he
emerges from a family of 5,his Dad,mum,he
himself and his two sisters. He has also graduated for the past two years
as a Civil Engineer from one of the Universities
in Nigeria and his way of living has been nothing
but *a hand to mouth* lifestyleâMaybe i will go to lagos to see meet my friend
*Saka* who is a mechanic (although i know a
little about it) and from there i can raise up a
little fund to be on my ownâAlano thought about
this one day after working as a *Load-Carrier* at
a popular market place around his street *(Chai!!!
the life of a Man,itâs just full of struggle)*On that same day he sat down with his parent to have
a discussion with them.âMama,Papa, seems i will be going to lagos by
next week,i need to find a jobâAlano said as he
was sitting on their roughly three-seater chair in
their parlour which is now food for the bed-bugsâAhah My son, when have you been thinking about
thisâHis dad interruptedâpapa, you are the one talking like this, donât you
know how hard i have tried to get a job but all
my effort proved abortive, now do you now
expect me to continue living here with you under
the same roof and you will still be the one
feeding me alwaysâAlano said as he began
weepingâDonât cry my son,all will be well, his mother said
as she too was wiping the tears in her eyes with
the edge of her clothHis father tried to lift his eyes up in the air to
prevent him from weeping alsoâSon,where are you going to stay in lagos before
securing an apartment of your ownâHis father
asked him hopelesslyâI will find my way out Papa, when i get there i
will call you sir, just pray for me so that i can see
a good job to be able to take good care of
you,mum and my younger twin-sistersâhe said as
he continue weeping.âDonât worry *boda-mi*,all will be wellâHis
younger twin-sisters consoled him************************************
On the fateful Morning,Alano woke up as early as
6am so that he can be able to catch the first
bus,he quickly took his bath, pack his luggage and
within a twinkle of an eye,he is already set for
the journey.âMama,Papa i am set sirâHe said as he was
waking them up with his voiceâAlano, you are through,so quick??âHis father who
love to call him fully by that name said as he
was trying to get up from the bedâYes papa,i need to catch the first bus as soon
as possibleâHe repliedâMy son, kneel down let me pray for youâHis
mother said as she was trying to show the sign
to himâOkae Mamaâ
**He kneels**
âI pray GOD almighty makes you great at lagosâ
âAmenâAlano and his father chorused
âYou will be successful,And by now you are going
with nothing, but when you will be returning back,
*GOD ALMIGHTY* will bless you like JacobââAmenâalano replied
**but what could my mum mean by *GOD* will
bless me like Jacob**He continued to wonder
After finishing the prayer he was seen off by his
parent to the bus and off he wentâŚ..********************************************
Alano got to lagos by 9pm in the evening, the
street was dark but he managed to see
through, after a couple of minutes he called Saka
that he is at his streetâGuy abeg i dey your street come pick meâHe
said this on phone while entering the streetâAhah you donât mean itâSaka said in an
unbelieving mannerâI do friendâ
After some minutes of searching Saka, he saw him
Alano and they both hugged each other as they
were entering his houseâAlano, you did not tell me that you were coming
down to lagos,it a sudden movement,what led
out of your stateâSaka was asking many
questions repeatedlyâSaka please will you leave all this your story and
give me foodâAlano said helplessly as he was so
tiredWhile he was eating, saka prepared another bed
sheet for him so that he can sleep after eatingâSo now tell me,what brought you down to
lagos??âSaka asked impatiently waiting for an
answerâ friend, where can i sleepâalano asked without
giving concern to what saka was asking himâTalk now, alanoâ
âSaka itâs a long story, when we wake up
tomorrow morning i will narrate everything to
