So eliminating Captain Blood was inevitable if he really wanted his freedom. Scads of thought frolic Temi’s mind after Muftau made him know that ending C.B life was his gateway to his freedom. An act that meant he would once again consciously be taking a life, something he had vowed not to go back to. But nevertheless, Muftau had made him know how much it worth. After all, C.B was a daemon on earth. A fiend who had lost count of lifes he had taken. Now it was so certain nature would adversely bless anybody that was able to bring him down.

And even part from taking him down in acetylating the nature bliss, there was more regnant reason for Temi to kill Captain Blood. Muftau had divulged some some of Captain Blood malign steps in succeeding in transforming Temi into the perfect puppet for his destiny.

“There is one other way killing C.B would benefit you apart from you retrieving your freedom from his lies” Muftau had pressed further to convince Temi who felt disinclination at the idea of eliminating C.B.

“What is that ?” Temi’s attention toted.

“You remember the last time you were abducted and brought to the league?”

“Yes i do”

“Something happened back then” Muftau announced. His face jellied making it unclutter for Temi to read his mind. For he knew something definitely happened after he was tranquilized to unconsciousness. Something he couldn’t construe and he had begun to feel it right after he was restored back to consciousness in his home. Some of his dingy secrets he was trying to protect from his wife. He had noticed his trunk had been fighting some corporeal transmutation. While sometimes he felt his nape and limp snapping and sliding through like a lycanthrope in transformation and had always been accompanied by a torturous retentive pain. To make matter worse, series of nightmares had been occurring to buttress all this bodily symptom. Whatever Muftau was about to say now, Temi was sure it has something to do with it.

“What did they do to me ?” Temi’s squalled, brow squeezed taut in readiness to take the aerosol Muftau was about to drop.

“That day after you were tranq down, a spell was carried out on you by C.B” Muftau jawed while Temi’s submaxilla refused to close. “Spell ?” So indeed the bestial C.B was trying all he could to the extent of going hoodoo on him just to make him accept the dam destiny. For everything he said could be a bruit to lure him into his peccant mission. “But why him”?

“What spell ? What’s it meant for ?”

“The spell of transition” Muftau said. ” And it’s a very powerful dark spell created about hundred years ago”

“What!” Temi’s tautened brow begged for more and more explanation. His worst fear was gliding to reality. For what is worth; he was never going to be a beast! A monster! Never!

“The spell of transition is a very puissant spell that was used more than 200 years ago by the Ijebus. It was known the spell was created by a very powerful witch back then. Nevertheless, the existence of the spell was for positive intent even though it carried a very flagitious consequence. The Ijebu had been under a persistence onslaught from a group of looters.

This looters had fostered up young men to become a very brawny fighters who went round every other villages to plunder and loot them of their valuable goods. The Ijebus who were so patsy then and being among the victims of this atrocities had always live their lifes in fear. Always in expectant of next onslaught from their captor. This dragged on for close to 15 years before the egress of a solution. A very cogent solution it was. The solution was no other one than the curse; also known as The spell of transition. A powerful female witch created the spell in other to help the Ijebu. The spell worked inform of a curse, and as powerful the curse was then, it chose is bearer. Even as spate of men from the Ijebu poured out to be the carrier of the curse because of the joy of feeling immortal, supernatural and dauntless, the spell didn’t work on them. This made everyone them streamed back to disappointment while the witch continued her search for the worthy bearer of the curse. After a very long berried search, she finally found just one man worthy to carry the spell.”

“What was the person’s name ?” Temi mussitated, face smeared by sudor almost forming a cleft on him. He didn’t know how but he found himself believing him and every drop of words seeping away from his mouth held something strong. He felt a strong connection to everything Muftau was spilling. Some way and some how his clairvoyance was tapping to him how connected he was to the story.

“The person’s name was Jare Badejo. But after he had been been bestowed with the curse and already accepted his role as a puppet and messenger to save his people his name was turned to Jahah!”

Temi’s jaw dropped. It was indeed his destiny. Apart from the nightmare his wife had where he groaned to her in self-plaudit of him being; Jahah- The messenger of the destroyer. Temi was also a descendant of Badejo. This was definitely an happenstance.

“So Muftau do you mean the curse has been casted on me and it worked ?”

“Yes. Captain Blood requested for the help of a witch who helped him cast the spell on you and it worked on you” Muftau announced wanly driving Temi into state of malaise.

This wasn’t what he bargained for. All he ever hankered for was an happy life with his family and friends not carrying a bestial curse about answering one dam destiny call.

“So what later happened to Jahah” he couldn’t help but know what eventually happen to his antecedent.

“Well according to Captain Blood, Jahah became so powerful and feared by this people. He eventually carried the curse for more than 8 years and helped fight this looters from attacking the Ijebu with his super-beastly ability before he was brutally murdered.

“Mudered! By who ?”

“By a woman” Muftau replied.

“A woman ? How ??”

“The woman Jahah married. While Jahah thought he had successfully exterminated the looters, little did he know that this people only slogged to defunctness for a while to strategize and plant a tactical way to defeat him. In which they successfully did. A vaticination revealed to them that only a weapon could defeat Jahah. And also, the weapon was to be retrieved from a very powerful deity this looters worshipped. So after being retrieved from the deity, there were some sanguineous complications, terms and conditions circumventing the usage of the weapon. First was that; the weapon could not to be wielded by just anybody. Instead it wieldance depended solely on the deity’s choice. Then the deity gave them a refractive warning to debar from looting away people’s belongings instead he would provide them with enough abundant riches and wealth if only they were ready to go by the task of spilling humans blood for him on every december 25. ”

“Wait wait!” Temi concussed looking totally flummoxed as the crystal memory of why he had to kill Dr.Banji’s menage on every December 25 kept slinking in. According to his foster father, Tunde had explained to him that December 25 was meant to be the day Dr.Banji spilled human’s blood to revamp his pledge to their blood-s-----g-deity. Could this mean he was definitely his doom ?

“Muftau”Temi tightened his clench on him, with his eyes perusing the answer to what next he was about to ask him. “The woman that wielded the weapon that killed Jahah 200 years ago was she from Oyebanji right ? And the deity you are talking about is the Sagutarym right?” Temi eyes pierced stintingly on him hoping the answer to be negative.
