Bo Rakching is only 10 years old, has the same height, even slightly higher than his brother Chea and other children of the same age. However, her appearance is much older than her real age.
Bo was born with wrinkled skin and always looked like an old woman. The girl, who now lives with her family in a remote village on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, has never received treatment and is regularly mocked by other children for her appearance as a 60-year-old woman.
Relatives and local monks make Bo believe that her appearance is because she is paying off bad karma from her previous life.
Bo said that when cycling, the children in the village often call her “old lady”, even she is called “grandmother” by her siblings. Currently, the girl dreams of getting plastic surgery to look younger.
In a video of Bo chatting with a local monk, she admits she’s embarrassed but never dared to ask her mother to take her for treatment.
“I want to have a pretty face. I want surgery. The kids all call me old lady. Among the siblings in the family, I am the only one who has an old, wrinkled face,” Bo said.
Bo was then encouraged by the monk to bravely stand up and overcome the taunts of his friends. In the video, Bo seems to accept that she “was shot dead in a previous life”, when she pays off her bad karma, she will become more beautiful.
According to experts, Bo’s premature aging may be due to the fact that she suffers from lipodystrophy, which causes the fatty tissue under the skin to atrophy.
Another possibility is that she has a skin disease (cutis laxa). This is a disease that causes connective tissue disorders, causing the skin to become inelastic.
